Sew What...

My mother and father-in-law came up for conference weekend and my mother-in-law say, "You know what would be fun? You should sew some dresses for you and Alayna for Easter." Well, I thought, that might actually be kind of fun. I have always wanted to learn how to sew clothes.

So, the adventure began. We went to the store, picked out some "easy" patterns and went fabric shopping. That in itself was mind exhausing yet fun in its own little way. When we finally made it home, managing to do all this in between sessions of conference of course, we imbarked on the journey of "what the heck was I thinking!"

Well, two days and much pulling of hair later (easy pattern remember), Alayna's dress is done. Mine however is still in the process, but should be done by Easter!!! Hopefully my house gets cleaned by then too...kind of been neglecting it since I started. Enjoy the photos!!

  2. Good Girl Allison, It's darling, I used to make t shirts for my boys and a tshirt dress for Catherine that all matched when they were little. You will get the sewing bug and probably won't be able to stop - I have some cute shorts patterns - easy - I'm sooo proud of you. It will be alayna's favorite dress, I promise. Love T

  3. SOOOO cute! Usually when I'm done sewing something (for myself, at least) then I'm sick of looking at it, so then I don't wear it all that much. What a waste! But I'm sure if I made stuff for my daughter, I would love it more. That dress turned out so good!
