So, I know that all parent's have them, but when it happens to you it just doesn't seem fair!! Poor Alayna was totally barffing all last night. Well, she only really barffed two times, but between the laundry and the baths, the crying (by both mom and baby) and the utter exhaustion, it felt like an all night event.
By about midnight, round two at this point, I just sent Chris to bed and told him that all would be fine without his help. Not that he really helps all that much!! He has a really sensitive gag reflex and everytime Alayna would barf he was just about joining her. Bless his heart, he did try to remove the blankets from the bed, but I think they only made it to the other end of the bed and not even to the floor before he started heaving a little himself. Sometimes it is just easier to do things yourself...although, I do get a little chuckle everytime he gags...terrible person that I am!!
So, Alayna and I stayed up and watched movies till about 3:30 this morning when I just couldn't stay awake anymore. She was kindly accepting to the idea of finally going to bed at that point. Thank goodness!! However, I just about gave in and gave her back her bink last night when she started crying, but I held my ground!!! One point for MOM!!!
So, Alayna is taking a nap right now and, Chris was kind enough to let me sleep in till about 10 this morning after Alayna woke up at 8:30....ugh! Five hours is just not enough anymore. I don't know what I am going to do when we ever do have another kid....No Anouncement here by the way!!!!!
Hope that tonight goes better

Oh, I HATE the barfies! Ugh. Yeah, Pete's not much help, either. I usually pass him the stripped down kid while he puts new jammies on while I clean up everything else. I would make him do it but he's like Chris with the gagging. I hope you all feel better soon, and get a better night's sleep!
ReplyDeleteI am not quite like Chris but I do have a very difficult time with vomit, so I was really excited last Thursday around five in the afternoon when Joseph started throwing up. Daniel left for work around 6:30, so I had a sick kid and a baby all by myself. Luckily he stopped vomitting around 11, but it was still a very long night.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you are all feeling better soon and that you are able to get some sleep! Take care!
That sounds worse than a night with a newborn (what with all the barfing and everything). Aren't husbands such amazing helpers :)
